From hyacinth to limonium, the flower names starting out with the letters H - L are featured in alphabetical order on this page of the flower photo guide.
Hyacinth - a fragrant Mediterranean plant increasingly popular as a cut flower. Usually white, pink, peach and blue. Available November to April.
Kermit Poms
Liatrus - Tall poker shaped purple flowers.
Hydrangea - A popular garden shrub with enormous flowerheads. Cultivated hydrangea come in interesting colors. Available Spring until Autumn.
Larkspur - Related to Delphiniums, but available smaller and in more pastel shades like pink.
Lilac - Also known as Syringa. A highly popular, strongly scented cut flower available in white, mauve, violet or pink. The purple-flowered varieties, which have the stronger scent are only available in spring for a very short season.
Hypericum - Also known as St. Johns Wort. It's attractive berries rather than flowers make this a very popular filler.
Larkspur-Blue Cloud shade.
Lily of the Valley - Also known as Convallaria. Tiny bell shaped flowers on short delicate stems. Available mainly April and May.
Iris -  Iris means "rainbow" in Greek. Garden irises come in a broad spectrum of colours, but cut flower irises are mostly blue, white and yellow like the summer sky.
Leptospermum - Flowers are up to 3 cm diameter, with five white, pink or red petals.
Limonium - Also known as Sea Lavender, Statice. Available in shades of purple and pink and can be enjoyed year round.
